Artist statement

I painted these two paintings with a Ukrainian girl named Anya in 2022. At that time, we were living in Berlin in a German home (it used to be a squat), which provided shelter for my wife and me and another Ukrainian family. I painted in the attic where Anya lived next door, and she gladly joined the process.

It was the first thing I painted in Berlin.
